Art Artists Inspiration Interviews Photography

Christian Weiss – A curse and a blessing

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I am a freelance graphic designer, illustrator and photographer living in Munich, Germany.

How did you first get into photography?

My father had an old Voightläder-Camera. I startet to use it I think when I was about 10 years old. My Father wasen’t really happy about that. This old Camera ment a lot to him, because he bought it as student and used it eversince. In those days I was very interested in technic, what means I used to decompose every technical instrument to see it from the inside, and when I tried to reconstruct it, there were always some spare parts left. For some reason I did not do this with his camera… In the following years I always carried a camera around and took plenty of experimental, banal, weird and under- or overexposed pictures 🙂

Georgy Kurasov – The borderline existence

“Georgy Kurasov was born in 1958 in the USSR, in what was then Leningrad. He still lives and works in the same place, but now the country is Russia and the city is called St Petersburg. Without any effort on his part whatsoever, Georgy seems to have emigrated from one surreal country to another…”
