Jeff Roland – One day it will happen, one day it will all come true

Jeff Roland creates bold, colourful pieces which reflect a constant desire to explore the human psyche. Born in 1969, he has sold works to collectors in France, the UK, the USA, Norway, Canada and Italy. His paintings have recently been exhibited at Chateau Corbin (Liverdun, 2009), the Centre des Arts Pablo Picasso (Blenod les PAM, 2009) ,the Brick Lane Gallery (London,2010), the Cannes Palm Beach Art Festival (Cannes , 2010) and as part of the Museum of Everything exhibition 2, at the Tate Modern ( London 2010)

Roland is in part an outsider artist. He is self taught and shares Dubuffet’s belief that art which emerges from the subconscious should not be redefined according to the expectations of the modern art world. Roland’s work is personal and immediate. Yet while his pieces bear the hallmarks of the outsider movement, they are also influenced by post-modern thought. Unlike more traditional artists, Roland consciously strikes up a rapport with his viewer by interpolating his works with contemporary visual and literary references.
